     Colonel Ernest Frederic Crosbie Trench was born on 6 August 1869.1 He was the son of George Frederic Trench and Frances Charlotte Crosbie.1 He married Netta Wilbraham Taylor, daughter of Herbert Wilbraham Taylor, on 3 April 1895.1 He died on 15 September 1960 at age 91.1
     Colonel Ernest Frederic Crosbie Trench graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland, with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He was registered as a Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (M.I.C.E.).1 He held the office of President of the Institute of Civil Engineers.1 He was the Chief Engineer of LMS Railways.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Engineering and Railway Staff Corps, Royal Engineers.1 He was invested as a Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1920.1
