     Sir James FitzJames FitzGerald was baptised on 26 June 1558.1 He was the son of James FitzJohn FitzGerald, 13th Earl of Desmond and Móre O'Carroll.1 He married Honora McCarthy, daughter of Sir Owen McCarthy Reagh, before 1580.1 He died in 1580 at Cork, County Cork, Ireland, beheaded, quartered and hung in chains.1
     In August 1580 he was taken prisoner in rebellion by Sir Cormac MacTeige MacCarthy Muskery.1
