     Lt.-Col. Edmund Godfrey Pelly was born on 19 October 1889.1 He was the son of Edmund Nevill Richard Pelly and Emma Mary Fowler.2 He married Isabel Amy Fowler, daughter of Robert Henry Fowler, on 24 May 1919.1 He died on 28 October 1939 at age 50, on active service.1
     Lt.-Col. Edmund Godfrey Pelly fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.3 He was decorated with the award of Military Cross (M.C.).1 He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1918.1 He fought in the Second World War.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Army Service Corps (MT).1
