     Sir George Downing, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1685. He was the son of Sir George Downing, 2nd Bt. and Lady Catherine Cecil. He married Mary Forester, daughter of Sir William Forester and Lady Mary Cecil, in February 1700. He died on 10 June 1749.
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dunwich between 1710 and 1715. He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Downing, of East Hatley, co. Cambridge [E., 1663] in June 1711. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Dunwich between 1722 and 1749. He was appointed Knight Bachelor on 12 January 1732.

     Charles Downing was the son of Sir George Downing, 1st Bt. and Frances Howard.1 He married Sarah Garrard, daughter of Jacob Garrard and Ursula Holland. He died on 15 April 1740.1
     He held the office of Comptroller of Customs.1 He lived at Bury St. Edmunds, Suffolk, England.1
