     Lt.-Col. James Alexander Duncan Fergusson was born on 30 July 1812.1 He was the son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan.2 He married Margaret Hope, daughter of James Hope, on 15 November 1844.1 He died on 8 November 1864 at age 52.1
     He fought in the Punjab Campaign in 1848.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 6th Bengal Light Cavalry.1

     James Hope was born on 7 September 1769 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He was the son of John Hope and Juliana Stevenson.3 He was also reported to have been born on 17 September 1769.3 He married Jane Walker, daughter of James Walker, on 15 July 1805 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.3,2 He died on 14 November 1842 at age 73.3
     He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.)1

     Margaret Hope was the daughter of James Hope.2 She married Lt.-Col. James Alexander Duncan Fergusson, son of Sir James Fergusson of Kilkerran, 4th Bt. and Hon. Henrietta Duncan, on 15 November 1844.1 She died on 9 December 1896.1
     From 15 November 1844, her married name became Fergusson.

Major Harry James Fergusson1

     Major Harry James Fergusson was born on 18 December 1852.1 He was the son of Major Robert Duncan Fergusson and Helen Blackburn.2 He married Frances Brandling, daughter of Colonel unknown Brandling, in 1897.1 He died on 9 February 1902 at age 49.1
     He gained the rank of Major in the Rifle Brigade.1 He was Military Secretary and Aide-de-Camp to General Sir J. Ross, GCB, commander of Canadian troops.1
