     William Nicholas Persse was born circa 1801.1 He was the son of William Blakeney Persse and Anne Blood.1 He married Bedilia Persse Egan, daughter of Patrick Egan and Maria Persse, before 17 May 1819 at Ballinasloe, County Clare, Ireland.1 He died before June 1863.1
     He fought in the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1819 in the service of the 54th Regiment.1
