     Sir Gillies Payne, 2nd Bt. was born on 14 December 1720.1 He was the son of Sir Charles Payne, 1st Bt. and Janet MacArthur.2 He married Maria Keeling, daughter of John Keeling, in 1771.1 He died on 31 January 1801 at age 80, without surviving issue.1
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Payne [G.B., 1737] in 1738.1 On his death, his baronetcy expired.1

     Maria Keeling was the daughter of John Keeling.2 She married Sir Gillies Payne, 2nd Bt., son of Sir Charles Payne, 1st Bt. and Janet MacArthur, in 1771.1 She died on 18 May 1802.1
     From 1771, her married name became Payne.

Ralph Payne, 1st and last Baron Lavington of Lavington1

     Ralph Payne, 1st and last Baron Lavington of Lavington was born on 19 March 1739.1 He was the son of Ralph Payne and Alice Carlisle.2 He married Frances Kolbel, daughter of Henry Kolbel, Baron Kolbel, on 1 September 1767.1 He died on 1 August 1807 at age 68, without issue.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Shaftesbury between 1768 and 1771.1 He was Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) in 1771.1 He held the office of Governor of the Leeward Islands between 1771 and 1775.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Camelford between 1776 and 1780.1 He was Clerk of the Board of the Green Cloth between 1777 and 1782.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Plympton between 1780 and 1784.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Fowey between 1790 and 1791.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Woodstock between 1795 and 1799.1 He was created 1st Baron Lavington of Lavington [Ireland] on 1 October 1795.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1799.1 He held the office of Governor of the Leeward Islands between 1799 and 1807.1
