     Andrew Winter Lake was born on 25 December 1821.1 He was the son of Sir James Samuel William Lake, 4th Bt. and Maria Turner.1 He married Henrietta Edith Jessie Francklyn, daughter of Edward Francklyn and Frances de Crespigny Miller, in 1855.2 He died on 9 July 1865 at age 43.2 He was buried at Birkenhead, Lancashire, England.1
     He was Captain Madras Army.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the British Army.1
