     Sir Denzil Cope, 14th Bt. was born on 18 September 1873.2 He was the son of Sir Anthony Cope, 13th Bt. and Mary Leckonby Phipps.2 He married Edna Frances Hilton, daughter of Edward Banker Hilton, on 14 July 1922.3,2 He died on 3 June 1940 at age 66.3,2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 3rd Battalion, Hampshire regiment.2 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1918.2 He succeeded as the 14th Baronet Cope, of Hanwell, co. Oxford [E., 1611] on 3 November 1932.2

     Joan Penelope Cope was born on 1 January 1926.2 She was the daughter of Sir Denzil Cope, 14th Bt. and Edna Frances Hilton.3,2 She married Sir Duncan Alexander Grant of Dalvey, 13th Bt., son of Alexander Lovett Grant and Mary Angela Mackenzie, on 3 August 1949.1 She died in 1991.1
     From 3 August 1949, her married name became Grant. She was a poet, author and translator.2
