     Lt.-Gen. John Christopher Guise, V.C. was born on 27 July 1826.1 He was the son of General Sir John Wright Guise, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Diana Vernon.2 He married Isabella Newcombe, daughter of Reverend Arthur Newcombe and Hon. Catherine Wingfield, on 18 September 1861.1 He died on 5 February 1895 at age 68.1
     He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.)1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Leicestershire Regiment, formerly 90th Light Infantry.1 He lived at St. Waleran, Gorey, Wexford, County Wexford, IrelandG.1

     Edward Pope was born in 1793 at London, EnglandG.1 He was the son of Ebenezer Pope and Anna Maria Eves.2 He married, firstly, Maria Jane Campbell, daughter of John Campbell and Charlotte Mary (?).2 He married, secondly, Augusta Bigge, daughter of Thomas Bigge and Maria Rundell, on 10 June 1835 at Sutton, Surrey, EnglandG.1 He died in 1855 at Guildford, Surrey, England.2
     He held the office of Archdeacon of Jamaica.1

     Isabella Newcombe was the daughter of Reverend Arthur Newcombe and Hon. Catherine Wingfield.2,1 She married Lt.-Gen. John Christopher Guise, V.C., son of General Sir John Wright Guise, 3rd Bt. and Charlotte Diana Vernon, on 18 September 1861.1 She died on 29 September 1921.1
     From 18 September 1861, her married name became Guise.

     John Henry Wingfield Guise was born on 7 December 1865.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. John Christopher Guise, V.C. and Isabella Newcombe.2 He died on 13 November 1899 at age 33, unmarried.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the The Cameronians, Scottish Rifles.1

Arthur St. Valery Beauchamp Guise1

     Arthur St. Valery Beauchamp Guise was born on 20 February 1868.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. John Christopher Guise, V.C. and Isabella Newcombe.2 He married Florence Hazel Herbert Mackintosh, daughter of Charles Mackintosh, on 15 September 1910.1 He died on 1 May 1923 at age 55.1
     He was educated at Wellington College, Wellington, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Honorary Captain in the Army.1 He was Private Secretary to the Lord-Lieutenant of Ireland and Governor-General of Canada.1

     From 19 August 1899, her married name became Vernon-Wentworth.
