     A/Cdre. James Louis Forbes was born on 26 January 1880.1 He was the son of Captain James Arthur Forbes and Fearne Jemima Kinnear.2 He married Marjorie Putnam, daughter of Sir Captain Thomas Putnam and Minnie Newman, on 28 January 1919.1 He died in 1965.1
     He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He gained the rank of Air Commodore in the Royal Air Force.1

     Marjorie Putnam was born on 10 February 1890 at Darlington, County Durham, England.2 She was the daughter of Sir Captain Thomas Putnam and Minnie Newman.3,2 She married, firstly, Captain Philip Picot, son of Major Francis Slater Picot and Ada Melvill Simons, on 29 November 1912 at St. Jude's, West Kensington, London, England.1,2 She married, secondly, A/Cdre. James Louis Forbes, son of Captain James Arthur Forbes and Fearne Jemima Kinnear, on 28 January 1919.1
     From 29 November 1912, her married name became Picot.1 From 28 January 1919, her married name became Forbes.

     Major James Alexander Forbes was born on 23 November 1919.1 He was the son of A/Cdre. James Louis Forbes and Marjorie Putnam.2 He married Susan Elizabeth Hornby, daughter of Maj.-Gen. Alan Hugh Hornby, on 15 May 1946.1 He died in 1981 at Hastings, Sussex, England.3
     He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Major in the Gordon Highlanders.1 He lived at Mill Cottage, Fulmer, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1
