Sir Richard Tempest, 3rd Bt. was born circa 1620.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Tempest, 2nd Bt. and Troth Tempest.2 He married Sarah Cambell, daughter of Thomas Cambell and Sarah Sparkes, on 9 October 1641.1
He was educated at Queen's College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn.1 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Tempest, of Stella, co. Durham [E., 1622] in August 1641.1 He gained the rank of Colonel of Horse in the service of the Royalist Army, during the Civil War.1

Sir Thomas Haggerston, 1st Bt. was born on 13 July 1785.2 He is the son of William Haggerston and Margaret Butler.3 He married Alice Banaster on 10 April 1673.2 He married Margaret Robertson, daughter of William Robertson, on 24 January 1815.2 He died on 11 December 1842 at age 57, without male issue.2
