Herbert Tongue Allsopp was born on 5 December 1855.1 He was the son of Henry Allsopp, 1st Baron Hindlip of Hindlip and Elizabeth Tongue.2 He married Edith Mary Okeover, daughter of Haughton Charles Okeover and Hon. Eliza Anne Cavendish, on 11 August 1891.2 He died on 31 January 1920 at age 64.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 10th Royal Hussars.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He lived at Walton Bury, Staffordshire, England.1
