Alice Henrietta Lawrence was born on 6 May 1895.1 She was the daughter of Sir Henry Hayes Lawrence, 2nd Bt. and Victoria Margaret Bristow.2 She married Sir Hopetoun Gabriel Stokes, son of Sir Henry Stokes, on 18 December 1922.1 She died on 7 January 1975 at age 79.1
