     Captain David Orr Ewing was born on 24 March 1900.1 He was the son of Charles Lindsay Orr Ewing and Lady Augusta Helen Elizabeth Boyle.2 He married Helen Mary Stuart Noaks, daughter of Benjamin Noaks, on 15 March 1930.1 He died on 18 June 1964 at age 64.1
     He gained the rank of First World War.2 He fought in the Second World War.2 He was Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1943.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) for Wigtownshire in 1951.1
