     Dudley Persse was born on 7 November 1829.2 He was the son of Dudley Persse and Hon. Katherine O'Grady.3 He died on 13 March 1892 at age 62, unmarried.2
     He fought in the Crimean War, and was severely wounded at the Alma.2 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 7th Fusiliers.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).2 He lived at Roxborough, County Galway, Ireland.2

     He was educated at Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Commander in the service of the Royal Navy.1
