     Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel was born on 28 April 1852.¹ He was the son of Sir Charles George Noel, 2nd Earl of Gainsborough and Lady Ida Harriet Augusta Hay.¹ He married Ruth Lucas, daughter of W. H. Lucas, on 7 October 1884.¹ He died on 9 November 1917 at age 65.¹
     Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel fought in the Ashanti War between 1873 and 1874.¹ He fought in the Jowaki Expedition between 1877 and 1878.¹ He fought in the Burmese War between 1885 and 1887.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Rifle Brigade.¹

     Ruth Lucas was the daughter of W. H. Lucas.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel, son of Sir Charles George Noel, 2nd Earl of Gainsborough and Lady Ida Harriet Augusta Hay, on 7 October 1884.¹ She died in April 1926.¹

     Lt.-Col. Edward William Charles Noel was educated at Oratory School, Birmingham, Warwickshire, England.¹ He was Vice-Consul to Ahwaz in 1915.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England.¹ He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Indian Empire (C.I.E.) in 1918.¹ He was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1919.¹ He was Political Agent for Kurram in 1924.¹ He was Consul to Kerman and Persian Baluchistan in 1929.¹ He was Deputy Commissioner of Dehra Ismail Khan in 1931.¹ He was Director of Agriculture and Allied Departemtns, North-West Frontier Provinces in 1933.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Indian Army.¹

     Katherine Florence Ross was the daughter of Robert Leighton Ross.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Edward William Charles Noel, son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel and Ruth Lucas, on 6 April 1923.¹ She died on 6 February 1952.¹
     Her married name became Noel.

     Robert Leighton Ross died before 1963.

     Simone Corbiau is the daughter of Professor Jean Corbiau.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Edward William Charles Noel, son of Lt.-Col. Hon. Edward Noel and Ruth Lucas, in 1954.¹

     Reverend Robert Anthony Noel was born on 26 January 1924.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Edward William Charles Noel and Katherine Florence Ross.¹ He died on 15 August 1966 at age 42, unmarried.²
     Reverend Robert Anthony Noel was registered as a Associate, Royal College of Organists (A.R.C.O.) in 1943.² In 1948 he rowed for Oxford in the Boat Race.² He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1949 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).¹ He was Roman Catholic Chaplain at Southampton University, Southampton, Hampshire, England.²

     Denys Edward Noel was born on 23 November 1925.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. Edward William Charles Noel and Katherine Florence Ross.¹ He married Petronelle Moore Bostock, daughter of C. Austin Bostock, on 13 December 1947.¹ He died in 1978.¹

     Petronelle Moore Bostock is the daughter of C. Austin Bostock.¹ She married Denys Edward Noel, son of Lt.-Col. Edward William Charles Noel and Katherine Florence Ross, on 13 December 1947.¹
     Her married name became Noel. She lived in 2003 at Weavers Cottage, Coombe Street, Lyme Regis, Dorset, England.¹
