     Edward Marjoribanks was born in 1688.1 He was the son of Edward Marjoribanks and Agnes Murray.1 He married Janet Loch, daughter of James Loch and Isabel Foulis, in 1710.1

     Agnes Margaret Kinloch is the daughter of Colonel David James Kinloch.1 She married, firstly, Commander Jasper Edmund Thomson Nicolls, son of Oliver Nicolls, on 21 December 1882 at Christ Church, Claughton-cum-Grange, Cheshire, England.1,2 She married, secondly, Hon. Coutts Marjoribanks, son of Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks, 1st Baron Tweedmouth of Edington and Isabella Hogg, on 3 July 1895.1
     From 21 December 1882, her married name became Nicolls.1 From 3 July 1895, her married name became Marjoribanks.1

     Thomas Marjoribanks of that Ilk and of Ratho was the son of Robert Marjoribanks of that Ilk.1 He married Janet Purves.1 He died in 1580.1
     He was admitted to Scots Bar entitled to practise as a Advocate.1 He held the office of Lord of Session.1 He held the office of Lord Clerk Register.1 In 1540 he had charter of Ratho.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Edinburgh between 1540 and 1549.1 He held the office of Provost of Edinburgh in 1541.1 In 1543 he had charter of Spotts.1 In 1560 he had charter of Marjoribanks in Annandale.1
