     Magnus I Herzog von Braunschweig was born circa 1304. He was the son of Albrecht II Herzog von Braunschweig-Göttingen and Rixa von Werle.1 He married Sophie von Brandenburg, daughter of Heinrich I Markgraf von Brandenburg and Agnes von Bayern, circa 1327. He died circa July 1369.
     Magnus I Herzog von Braunschweig was a member of the House of Guelph.1 Magnus I Herzog von Braunschweig also went by the nick-name of Magnus 'the Pious'.1 He succeeded to the title of Herzog von Braunschweig in 1345.1
