Henry Walter Campbell was born on 23 March 1835.1 He was the son of John Frederick Campbell of Cawdor, 1st Earl Cawdor of Castlemartin and Lady Elizabeth Thynne.2 He married Fanny Georgina Campbell, daughter of Colonel George Herbert Frederick Campbell and Louisa Cox, on 29 June 1859.1 He died on 7 December 1910 at age 75.1
     Lt.-Col. Hon. Henry Walter Campbell was decorated with the Chevalier, Legion of Honour.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the service of the Coldstream Guards.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Carmarthenshire.1
