     Dudley Charles Le SOUËF is the son of William Le SOUËF and Ann Wales.1 He married Louisa Pittman on 11 August 1853 at London, England, in a at Saint James, Westminster marriage.2

The Colonial Times newspaper of Hobart Town reported on Tuesday 29 March 1842:

THE NATIVE POLICE.—Preparations are going rapidly forward for bringing into action the newly instituted corps of Native Mounted Police. Twenty native troopers are already enlisted and in the course of training, but they are not yet mounted. The command of the corps has been given to Henry Pulteney Dana, Esq; the second officer is Dudley Charles Le Souef, Esq., son of William Le Souef, Esq., Assistant Protector of Aborigines at the Goulburn.
