Katharine Jane Elizabeth Carnegie was born on 25 June 1904. She was the daughter of David John Carnegie, 10th Earl of Northesk and Elizabeth Boyle Hallowes. She married, firstly, William Bridgeman Lambert Manley, son of Major William Edward Manley, on 22 December 1924. She and William Bridgeman Lambert Manley were divorced in 1945. She married, secondly, Brigadier Edward Leathley Armitage, son of John Leathley Armitage, on 28 April 1945. She died on 2 April 1949 at age 44.

John Edmund Elliot was born on 30 March 1788. He was the son of Sir Gilbert Elliot, 1st Earl of Minto and Anna Maria Amyand. He married Amelia Casamaijor, daughter of James Henry Casamaijor, on 3 October 1809. He died on 4 April 1862 at age 74.
