Captain James Boyle was born on 27 February 1850.1 He was the son of Vice-Admiral Alexander Boyle and Agnes Walker.1 He married Blanche Eleanor Murray Pratt, daughter of Reverend Jermyn Pratt and Mary Louisa Murray, on 30 April 1891.1 He died on 23 January 1931 at age 80, without issue.1
