     Charity Armit is the daughter of William Armit.2 She married Thomas Orde Lees, son of Sir John Lees, 1st Bt. and Mary Cathcart, in 1811.1
     From 1811, her married name became Lees.

Thomas Orde Hastings Lees1

     Thomas Orde Hastings Lees was born on 22 February 1846 at Clifden, County Galway, IrelandG.1 He was the son of Reverend John Lees and Lady Louisa Hastings.2 He married Grace Bateman, daughter of Joshua Wigly Bateman and Emma Louise Blackett, on 24 August 1871.1 He died on 30 September 1924 at age 78.1
     He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northanptonshire.1 He was barrister, RIC, Ch Constable Northamptonshire and IoW to in 1898.1 He lived in 1911 at 4 Osnaburgh Terrace, Regents Park, London, EnglandG.1

     Grace Bateman was born in 1850 at Lambeth, Surrey, EnglandG.2 She was the daughter of Joshua Wigly Bateman and Emma Louise Blackett.1,2 She married Thomas Orde Hastings Lees, son of Reverend John Lees and Lady Louisa Hastings, on 24 August 1871.1 She died on 24 August 1935.1
     From 24 August 1871, her married name became Lees.

     Edmund Hastings Harcourt Lees was born on 21 December 1875 at Northampton, Northamptonshire, EnglandG.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Orde Hastings Lees and Grace Bateman.3 He died on 28 October 1914 at age 38, killed in action.1
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the 2nd Battalion, Border Regiment.1

     Lt.-Col. Thomas Orde Hans Lees was born on 23 May 1877 at RussiaG.1,2 He was the son of Thomas Orde Hastings Lees and Grace Bateman.3 He married, firstly, Rhoda Isabel Musgrove, daughter of P. Musgrove, on 14 October 1902.1 He married, secondly, Ellaline Hisako in 1932.3 He died in 1958.3
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Marines Light Infantry and Royal Air Force.1 He was awarded the Air Force Cross (A.F.C.)1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1 He was a professor at Peers College, Japan.1

     From before 1902, her married name became Fraser.2 From 14 October 1902, her married name became Lees.

     Grace Isabel Renée Lees was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Thomas Orde Hans Lees and Rhoda Isabel Musgrove.2 She married, firstly, Sir Alfred Jules Ayer, son of Jules Louis Cyprian Ayer, on 25 November 1932.3 She and Sir Alfred Jules Ayer were divorced in 1942.1 She married, secondly, Sir Stuart Newton Hampshire, son of G. N. Hampshire, in 1961.1 She died in 1980.1
     From 25 November 1932, her married name became Ayer. From 1961, her married name became Hampshire.1
