     Alison Linda McNair Scott was born on 1 October 1936.1 She is the daughter of Major Ronald Guthrie McNair Scott and Hon. Mary Cecilia Berry.2 She married Laurence Charles Kevin Kelly, son of Sir David Victor Kelly and Renee Marie-Noele de Jouda de Vaux, on 20 April 1963.1
     Alison Linda McNair Scott usually went by her middle name of Linda.1 She was educated at Byam Shaw School of the Arts, London, England.1 She was travel editor for Vogue between 1960 and 1963.1 From 20 April 1963, her married name became Kelly.3 She wrote the book The Marvellous Boy, published 1971.1 She wrote the book The Young Romantics, published 1976.1 She wrote the book The Kemble Era, published 1980.1 She wrote the book Women of the French Revolution, published 1986.1 She wrote the book Juniper Hall, published 1991.1 She wrote the book Richard Brinsley Sheridan, published 1997.1 A reviewer, lecturer and broadcaster.1 She lived in 2003 at Lorton Hall, Low Lorton, Cockermouth, Cumbria, England.1

     Harriet Crawley was born in 1948.1 She is the daughter of Aidan Merivale Crawley and Virginia Cowles.1,3 She married, firstly, Gleb Chestekov circa September 1993.4 She married, secondly, Julian Ayer, son of Sir Alfred Jules Ayer, circa 2001.5
     In June 1987 she unsuccesfully stood for Brent East at the General Election.6 She was a TV reporter and writer.4 From circa September 1993, her married name became Chestekov.4 From circa 2001, her married name became Ayer.5

     Virginia Cowles was born on 24 August 1910.1 She was the daughter of Dr. Edward Spencer Cowles and Florence Wolcott Jacquith.3 She married Aidan Merivale Crawley, son of Reverend Arthur Stafford Crawley, in 1945. She died on 16 September 1983 at age 73 at France, as the result of a road accident.1
     From 1945, her married name became Crawley.1 She was a historian.1 She was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1947.1

     Julian Ayer was the son of Sir Alfred Jules Ayer.1 He married Harriet Crawley, daughter of Aidan Merivale Crawley and Virginia Cowles, circa 2001.1 He died on 26 December 2004 at Galle, killed in the Asian Tsunami.1
     Julian Ayer and Sir Alfred Jules Ayer were adopted.
