Patrick Plunkett, 3rd Baron Louth1

     Patrick Plunkett, 3rd Baron Louth was born circa 1548.1 He was the son of Thomas Plunkett, 2nd Baron Louth and Margaret Barnewall.2 He married Maud Plunkett, daughter of Christopher Plunkett, 6th Lord Killeen and Ellice Barnewall, circa 1571.1 He died circa 1 May 1578 at Essexford, County Monaghan, Ireland, killed by Ever Boy McMahon while recovering stolen cattle, without male issue.1
     He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Louth [I., 1541] on 1 May 1571.1

     Christopher Plunkett, 6th Lord Killeen was born circa 1522.2 He was the son of John Plunket, 4th Lord Killeen and Margaret Preston.3,2 He married Ellice Barnewall, daughter of Sir Christopher Barnewall and Catherine Fleming, in 1556.2 He died from 12 March 1560/61 to 8 June 1561.2
     He succeeded as the 6th Lord Killeen [I., c. 1449] on 3 June 1556.2

     Her married name became Shergold.3 After her marriage, Maud Plunkett was styled as Baroness Louth on 1 May 1571.
