     Sir William Clare Lees, 1st Bt. was born on 9 December 1874.1 He was the son of William Lees and Emma Clare.2 He married Kathleen Nickson, daughter of John Nickson, on 29 January 1901.1 He died on 26 May 1951 at age 76.1
     He was educated at Leys School, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG.1 He was director of Manchester Ship Canal Company.1 He was chairman of Phoenix Assurance.1 He was Deputy Chief Executive Officer, War Department (Cotton Textiles) between 1917 and 1919.1 He was appointed Commander, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (C.St.J.)1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1920.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cheshire.1 He was deputy-chairman of Lloyd's Packing Warehouses, and Martins Bank.1 He was president of Manchester Chamber of Commerce between 1922 and 1924.1 He was appointed Knight in 1924.1 He was member of the Board of Trade Advisory Committee between 1924 and 1927.1 He was member of the Balfour Committee between 1924 and 1929.1 He held the office of Governor of Manchester University.1 He was member of the Board of Trade Advisory Committee between 1931 and 1933.1 He was created 1st Baronet Lees, of Longdendale, co. Palatine of Chester [U.K.] on 2 March 1937.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.)1

     Kathleen Nickson was born circa 1876.1 She was the daughter of John Nickson.2 She married Sir William Clare Lees, 1st Bt., son of William Lees and Emma Clare, on 29 January 1901.1 She died on 23 June 1967.1
     From 29 January 1901, her married name became Lees.

     Sir William Hereward Clare Lees, 2nd Bt. was born on 6 March 1904.1 He was the son of Sir William Clare Lees, 1st Bt. and Kathleen Nickson.2 He married Dorothy Gertrude Lauder, daughter of Francis Alexander Lauder, on 5 July 1930.1 He died on 20 April 1976 at age 72.1
     Sir William Hereward Clare Lees, 2nd Bt. usually went by his middle name of Hereward.1 He was educated at Leys School, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.1 He was director of Bleachers Association between 1935 and 1967.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Lees, of Longdendale, co. Palatine of Chester [U.K., 1937] on 26 May 1951.1 He was director of District Board, Martins Bank between 1959 and 1969.1

     Jennifer Dorothy Clare Lees was born on 6 February 1932.1 She is the daughter of Sir William Hereward Clare Lees, 2nd Bt. and Dorothy Gertrude Lauder.2 She married John Ben Arnold Wallinger, son of Lt.-Col. Ernest Arnold Wallinger, on 19 September 1953.1
     From 19 September 1953, her married name became Wallinger. She lived in 2003 at Beechlands Farmhouse, Newick, Sussex, England.1
