     Dame Diana Clavering Elliot was born on 13 August 1917 at Stutton Hall, Suffolk, England.1 She was the daughter of Ian Frederick Lettsom Elliot.1 She married John Collins in October 1939.1 She died on 23 May 2003 at age 85.1
     From October 1939, her married name became Collins.1 She was trustee of the International Defence and Aid Fund for Southern Africa between 1982 and 1991.1 She was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (D.B.E.) in 1999.1
