     Alexander Macdonald, 3rd of Geridhoil is the son of John Macdonald, 2nd of Geridhoil and Janet Macdonald.2 He married Isabella Macdonald, daughter of Allan Roy Macdonald, 7th of Morar and Marjory Cameron.1 He married Margaret MacEachan, daughter of Charles MacEachan of Peninuren.1
      And was drowned in Uist ford (see below).1 In 1746 imprisoned and taken to London for being involved in Bonnie Prince Charlie's escape after Culloden.1
