     Hon. Robin William Lewis was born on 7 February 1941.1 He is the son of William Brereton Couchman Lewis, 3rd Baron Merthyr and Violet Meyrick.2 He married Judith Ann Giardelli, daughter of Vincent Charles Arthur Giardelli, on 28 April 1967.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from Magdalen College School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was chairman and managing director of The Magstim Company Ltd.1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Dyfed in 1987.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1988.1 He was chairman of the General Advisory Council, IBA between 1989 and 1990.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Dyfed in 2002.1 He held the office of Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed.3 He was appointed Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 2015.3

     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He graduated from University of Wales, Wales, with a Master of Laws (LL.M.)1 He was admitted to Inner Temple in 1971 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was Lecturer in 1976 at University College, Cardiff, Glamorgan, WalesG.1 He was chairman of Powys Family Health Services Authority between 1990 and 1996.1 He was chairman of Powys Health Care NHS Trust between 1996 and 2003.1 He was member of the Competition Appeal Tribunal in 2000.1 He lived in 2003 at Brynglocsen, Dolanog, Welshpool, Powys, WalesG.1
