     Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss married Margaret Hepburn, daughter of Adam Hepburn, Master of Hailes and Helen Home.1 He married, firstly, Katherine Sinclair, daughter of Henry Sinclair, 3rd Lord St. Clair and Margaret Hepburn, between 27 January 1511 and 1512. He married by contract, secondly, Mariota Towers, daughter of John Towers, on 7 March 1526. He died before 27 May 1544.

     Sir John Wemyss of Wemyss was the son of Sir David Wemyss of Wemyss and Katherine Sinclair. He married, firstly, Margaret Otterburn, daughter of Sir Adam Otterburn, circa 20 October 1534. He and Margaret Otterburn were divorced in 1556. He married, secondly, Janet Trail, daughter of Alexander Trail, before 21 February 1557/58. He died circa 25 January 1571/72.

He married, firstly, Margaret Douglas, daughter of William Douglas, 6th Earl of Morton and Lady Agnes Leslie, on 17 April 1574, by contract. He married, secondly, Mary Stewart, daughter of James Stewart, 1st Lord Doune and Lady Margaret Campbell, circa August 1581. He died before June 1622.
