     Helen Joan Hayes was born on 5 August 1915 at Cairo, Egypt.¹ She married Air Vice-Marshal Evelyn Michael Thomas Howell, son of Sir Evelyn Berkeley Howell and Laetitia Cecilia Campbell, on 2 December 1937 at Cairo, Egypt.¹ She died on 14 September 1976 at age 61 at Hove, Sussex, England.¹
