     Lt.-Col. Frederick Clinton was born on 28 August 1804.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir William Henry Clinton and Hon. Louisa Dorothea Holroyd.2 He married Mary Margaret Montagu-Scott, daughter of Henry James Montagu-Scott, 2nd Baron Montagu of Boughton and Hon. Jane Margaret Douglas, on 9 July 1840.1 He died on 9 November 1870 at age 66.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Grenadier Guards.1

     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was the Rector at Padworth, Berkshire, EnglandG.1
