     Lt.-Col. Frederick Clinton was born on 28 August 1804.2 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Sir William Henry Clinton and Hon. Louisa Dorothea Holroyd.1 He married Mary Margaret Montagu-Scott, daughter of Henry James Montagu-Scott, 2nd Baron Montagu of Boughton and Hon. Jane Margaret Douglas, on 9 July 1840.2 He died on 9 November 1870 at age 66.2
     Lt.-Col. Frederick Clinton gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Grenadier Guards.2
