     Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford was born on 10 May 1860.1 He was the son of Vice-Admiral Hon. Sir Montagu Stopford and Lucy Cay.1 He married Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie, daughter of George Alexander Mackenzie, on 21 July 1891.1 He died on 13 September 1942 at age 82.1
     Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford fought in the Egypt Campaign in 1882.1 He fought in the Sikkim Expedition in 1888.1 He was the Commandant between 1911 and 1914 at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was Brigade Commander between 1914 and 1916.1 He fought in the First World War between 1914 and 1919, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He was invested as a Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1916.1 He was the Commandant between 1916 and 1919 at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was invested as a Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1919.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Kent.1 He gained the rank of Colonel and Honorary Major-General in the service of the Derby Regiment and Irish Guards.1

     General Sir Montagu George North Stopford was born on 16 November 1892.1 He was the son of Colonel Sir Lionel Arthur Montagu Stopford and Mabel Georgina Emily Mackenzie.1 He married Dorothy Deare, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Foulkes Deare and Grace Ethel Combe, on 12 April 1921.1 He died on 10 March 1971 at age 78, without issue.1
