     William Alexander Ernest Erskine was born on 24 March 1857.1 He was the son of Hon. James Augustus Erskine and Elizabeth Bogue Brodie.2 He married, firstly, Edith Elizabeth Elliot, daughter of William Frank Elliot, on 27 December 1878.1 He married, secondly, Amelia Esther Ovens, daughter of Captain John Ovens, on 4 January 1881.1 He died on 24 March 1934 at age 77.1
