     Charles John Kean was born on 18 January 1811 at Waterford, County Waterford, Ireland.1 He was the son of Edmund Kean and Mary Chambers. He married Ellen Tree on 29 January 1842.1 He died on 22 January 1868 at age 57 at Chelsea, London, England.1
     Actor-manager, as which staged Shakespeare revivals.1 Played Iago to his f's Othello (their sole joint appearance) , at the end of which performance his father was stricken by the attack which carried him off seven weeks later.1 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was appointed Fellow, Society of Antiquaries (F.S.A.) in 1857.1

     Ellen Tree was born in 1813 at London, England.2 She married Charles John Kean, son of Edmund Kean and Mary Chambers, on 29 January 1842.1 She died in 1880.2
     She was actress as Ellen Kean, frequently performing opposite her husband.1 From 29 January 1842, her married name became Kean.
