     He gained the rank of Major in the service of the 12th Foot.1

     He was admitted to Lincoln's Inn.1 He was a practising Barrister-at-Law.1 He graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He lived at The Elms, Faringdon, Oxfordshire, England.1
