     Archibald Acheson, 3rd Earl of Gosford was born on 20 August 1806 at Markethill, Mullaghbrack, County Armagh, Ireland.1 He was the son of Archibald Acheson, 2nd Earl of Gosford and Mary Sparrow. He married Theodosia Brabazon, daughter of John Chambré Brabazon, 10th Earl of Meath and Lady Melosina Adelaide Meade, on 22 June 1832.1 He died on 15 June 1864 at age 57. He was also reported to have died on 13 February 1876 at Markethill, Mullaghbrack, County Armagh, Ireland.1
     Archibald Acheson, 3rd Earl of Gosford was styled as Viscount Acheson.2 He was created 1st Baron Acheson, of Clancairney, co. Armagh [U.K.] on 18 September 1847. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baron of Worlingham [U.K., 1835] on 27 March 1849, when the title Baron Acheosn was merged into this Barony.2 He succeeded to the title of 3rd Earl of Gosford [I., 1806] on 27 March 1849.2
