     Lyttelton Lucas Cubitt was born on 19 May 1847 at Bucklesham, Suffolk, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend Benjamin Lucas Cubitt and Emma Holyoak.¹ He married Margaret Hooper on 8 December 1875 at Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹
