     Thomas Tod lived at Drygrange, Roxburghshire, Scotland.¹

     Hon. Margaret Hume-Campbell was the daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western.² She married Maj.-Gen. James Stuart on 20 September 1763.¹ She died on 7 January 1765, without issue and in the lifetime of the father.¹
     From 20 September 1763, her married name became Stuart.¹

     Maj.-Gen. James Stuart married Hon. Margaret Hume-Campbell, daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western, on 20 September 1763.¹

     Walter Scott was born on 31 December 1724.¹ He was the son of Walter Scott and Ann Scott.² He married Hon. Diana Hume-Campbell, daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western, on 18 April 1754.² He died on 25 January 1793 at age 68.²
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire between 1747 and 1765.¹ They also had other issue.² He was Receiver-General of Customs in 1765.¹ He lived at Harden.¹

     Hon. Diana Hume-Campbell was born on 4 June 1735.¹ She was the daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western.² She married Walter Scott, son of Walter Scott and Ann Scott, on 18 April 1754.¹ She died on 20 July 1827 at age 92.¹
     From 18 April 1754, her married name became Scott.¹ They also had other issue.¹ She succeeded as the 5th Lady Polwarth [S., 1690] on 11 March 1822, de jure.¹

     Edward Bazett was born in 1859 at Reading, Berkshire, England.¹ He was the son of Reverend Alfred Young Bazett and Catherine Frances Norton.¹
     He was a land surveyor at Canada.¹

     Hon. Anne Hume-Campbell was born on 10 February 1755.¹ She was the daughter of Walter Scott and Hon. Diana Hume-Campbell.² She died on 15 March 1819 at age 64, unmarried.¹

     Stuart Oliphant was born on 12 June 1872.² He was the son of Thomas Truman Oliphant and Georgina Elizabeth Mansfield.¹ He married Yvonne Marie Mansfield, daughter of R. W. Mansfield, on 3 June 1914.² He died on 18 September 1919 at age 47.²
     He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.)²

     Nigel Oliphant was born on 19 December 1874.¹ He was the son of Thomas Truman Oliphant and Georgina Elizabeth Mansfield.¹ He died on 27 August 1905 at age 30, unmarried.¹
     He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)¹ He fought in the Boxer Rebellion in July 1900, and was severely wounded in the defence of the British Legation, Peking.¹

     Alice Bazett was born in 1862 at Quedgeley, Gloucestershire, England.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend Alfred Young Bazett and Catherine Frances Norton.¹ She died in 1939.¹
