     Hon. Margaret Hume-Campbell was the daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western.2 She married Maj.-Gen. James Stuart on 20 September 1763.1 She died on 7 January 1765, without issue and in the lifetime of the father.1
     From 20 September 1763, her married name became Stuart.1

     Walter Scott was born on 31 December 1724.1 He was the son of Walter Scott and Ann Scott.2 He married Hon. Diana Hume-Campbell, daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western, on 18 April 1754.2 He died on 25 January 1793 at age 68.2
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Roxburghshire between 1747 and 1765.1 They also had other issue.2 He was Receiver-General of Customs in 1765.1 He lived at Harden.1

     Hon. Diana Hume-Campbell was born on 4 June 1735.1 She was the daughter of Hugh Hume-Campbell, 3rd Earl of Marchmont and Anne Western.2 She married Walter Scott, son of Walter Scott and Ann Scott, on 18 April 1754.1 She died on 20 July 1827 at age 92.1
     From 18 April 1754, her married name became Scott.1 They also had other issue.1 She succeeded as the 5th Lady Polwarth [S., 1690] on 11 March 1822, de jure.1

     He was registered as a Licentiate, Royal College of Physicians, London (L.R.C.P.)1 He fought in the Boxer Rebellion in July 1900, and was severely wounded in the defence of the British Legation, Peking.1
