     Somerset Arthur Gough-Calthorpe was born in 1865 at Chelsea, London, England.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Somerset John Gough-Calthorpe, 7th Baron Calthorpe and Eliza Maria Chamier.1 He married Annie Euphemia Dunsmuir, daughter of Robert Dunsmuir and Joan Olive White, in March 1900 at St. George Hanover Square, London, England.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.1 He was Naval Attache to the Briitsh Embassy at St. Petersburg, Russia.1
