     Jane Peppercorn was the daughter of William Peppercorn.2 She married John Riddell, son of Reverend James Riddell and Dorothy Foster, on 15 November 1860.1 She died in 1884.1
     Her married name became Riddell.

James Foster Riddell1

     James Foster Riddell was born on 17 October 1861.1 He was the son of John Riddell and Jane Peppercorn.2 He married Margaret Christabel Scott, daughter of Sir Henry Hall Scott, on 17 April 1912.1 He died on 26 April 1915 at age 53, killed in action, without issue.1
     He fought in the Hazara Expedition in 1888.1 He fought in the Boer War.1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Temporary Brigadier-General in the Northumberland Fusiliers.1
