     Maj.-Gen. Sir Charles Walker Robinson was born on 3 April 1836.1 He was the son of Sir John Beverley Robinson, 1st Bt. and Emma Walker.2 He married Margaret Frances Alison, daughter of General Sir Archibald Alison, 2nd Bt. and Jane Black, on 16 October 1884.1 He died on 20 May 1924 at age 88.1
     He was educated at Upper Canada College, Toronto, Ontario, CanadaG.1 He was educated at Trinity College, Toronto University, Toronto, Ontario, CanadaG.1 He fought in the Indian Mutiny in 1858.1 He fought in the Ashanti War between 1873 and 1874, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He fought in the First Boer War in 1879, where he was mentioned in despatches.1 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Rifle Brigade.1 He was AAG of the Aldershot between 1884 and 1889.1 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1887.1 He was Assistant Military Secretary, HQ between 1889 and 1892.1 He was commander of the troops in Mauritius between 1892 and 1895.1 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Bath (K.C.B.) in 1923.1
