     Marian Haytor is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Herbert Roche Haytor.2 She married, firstly, W/Cdr. James Hogarth Slater before 1946.1 She married, secondly, William Geoffrey Rootes, 2nd Baron Rootes, son of William Edward Rootes, 1st Baron Rootes and Nora Press, on 15 August 1946.1
     From before 1946, her married name became Slater.1 From 15 August 1946, her married name became Rootes. As a result of her marriage, Marian Haytor was styled as Baroness Rootes on 12 December 1964.

     Sir Robert Douglas Ropner, 4th Bt. was born on 1 December 1921.1 He was the son of Sir Emil Hugo Oscar Robert Ropner, 3rd Bt. and Lillian Rochfort Snow.2 He married Patricia Kathleen Schofield, daughter of William Edward Schofield, on 24 November 1943.1 He died on 12 January 2004 at age 82 at Swaffham Prior, Cambridgeshire, England.3
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow on the Hill, London, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Artillery.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Baronet Ropner, of Preston Hall, co.
