He married Carola Mariette Verney, daughter of Major Ulick Otway Vortigern Lloyd-Verney and Esmé Louise Smith-Ryland, on 11 September 1952.2 He died on 29 March 2002 at age 78.2
     He was educated Eton and Ch Ch Oxford.2 He was Major (ret) Coldstream Guards.2 He lived in 2003 at Bayfield Brecks, Holt, Norfolk NR25 7DZ, ZZZ.2

     Carola Mariette Verney was born on 4 July 1932.1 She is the daughter of Major Ulick Otway Vortigern Lloyd-Verney and Esmé Louise Smith-Ryland.2 She married Major John Hugh Torquhil Sutton, son of Nigel Eustace Philip Sutton and Stella Clementina Price, on 11 September 1952.3
     She was Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) (see VERNEY.3 Her married name became Sutton.
