     Lt.-Col. Stuart Whitemore Chant-Sempill was the son of Norman James Whitemore Chant. He married Ann Moira Sempill, Lady Sempill, daughter of William Francis Forbes-Sempill, 19th Lord Sempill and Eileen Marion Lavery, on 28 October 1948.1 He died in 1991.
     He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.)1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Gordon Highlanders and No 5 Commando.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He was given the name of Stuart Whitemore Chant at birth.2 In 1966 his name was legally changed to Stuart Whitemore Chant-Sempill by Lyon Court decree.1

     He was educated at Oratory School, Woodcote, Edgbaston, Warwickshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Gordon Highlanders.1 He lived in 2003 at The Bell House, Sutton Veny, Wiltshire, England.1
