     Captain Hon. John Marie Joseph Horatio Nelson was born on 21 July 1908. He was the son of Edward Agar Horatio Nelson, 5th Earl Nelson of Trafalgar and of Merton and Geraldine Cave. He married Kathleen Mary Burr, daughter of William Burr, in 1941. He died in 1970.

     Kathleen Mary Burr is the daughter of William Burr. She married Captain Hon. John Marie Joseph Horatio Nelson, son of Edward Agar Horatio Nelson, 5th Earl Nelson of Trafalgar and of Merton and Geraldine Cave, in 1941.
     Her married name became Nelson.

     Peter John Horatio Nelson, 9th Earl Nelson of Trafalgar and of Merton was born on 9 October 1941. He is the son of Captain Hon. John Marie Joseph Horatio Nelson and Kathleen Mary Burr. He married, firstly, Maureen Quin in 1969. He and Maureen Quin were divorced in 1992. He married, secondly, Tracy Margaret Cowie, daughter of Raymond James Cowie, on 26 September 1992.
     Peter John Horatio Nelson, 9th Earl Nelson of Trafalgar and of Merton gained the title of 9th Earl Nelson of Trafalgar and of Merton.
