     Elizabeth Smith was the daughter of Joshua Smith and Sarah Gilbert.2 She married William John Chute, son of Thomas Lobb Chute and Ann Rachael Wiggett, on 15 October 1793.1 She died, without issue.1
     From 15 October 1793, her married name became Chute.

     William John Chute was born on 24 May 1757.2 He was the son of Thomas Lobb Chute and Ann Rachael Wiggett. He married Elizabeth Smith, daughter of Joshua Smith and Sarah Gilbert, on 15 October 1793.1 He died on 13 December 1824 at age 67.1
     He lived at Pickenham Hall, Hampshire, England.1 He lived at The Vyne, Hampshire, England.1 He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.2 He was educated at Clare College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Hampshire between 1790 and 1820.1

     Admiral Francis Arden Close was born in 1829.1 He was the son of Reverend Francis Close and Ann Diana Arden.1 He married Mary Henrietta Hebden, daughter of George Hebden, in 1851 at Christ Church, Tynemouth, Northumberland, England.1 He married Fanny Paulina Kraeutler, daughter of William Kraeutler, on 16 April 1863 at St. James, Westminster, London, England.1 He died in 1918 at Bristol, England.1
     He was commissioned in 1842 with the rank of officer, in the service of the Royal Navy.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1850.1
