Lt.-Gen. Sir James Maxwell Wallace1

     Lt.-Gen. Sir James Maxwell Wallace was born on 21 February 1783.1 He was the son of John Wallace of Kelly and Neilstounside and Janet Colquhoun.2 He married, firstly, Eliza Maria Hodges, daughter of Parry Hodges, in 1818.1 He married, secondly, Grace Stein, daughter of John Stein, in March 1836.2 He died on 3 February 1867 at age 83, without issue.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the 17th Lancers.1 He fought in the Battle of Waterloo in 1815.1 He was appointed Knight, Hanoverian Order (K.H.) in 1830.1 He was appointed Knight in 1831.1

Eliza Maria Hodges1

     Eliza Maria Hodges was the daughter of Parry Hodges.2 She married Lt.-Gen. Sir James Maxwell Wallace, son of John Wallace of Kelly and Neilstounside and Janet Colquhoun, in 1818.1 She died on 4 September 1834, without issue.1
     From 1818, her married name became Wallace.
