     John fitz Roger is the son of Rannulf (?).2
     He was the Multon line were Roger Welby (Sheriff ), Richard Welby (MP Lincolnshire 1422), Richard Welby (MP Lincolnshire 1450–52), Richard Welby (Sheriff Lincolnshire 1471 and Member of Parliament (M.P.) 1472–77), Richard Welby (Sheriff Lincolnshire 1487 Lincs 1397.1 His younger son or brother settled in the Parts of Holland and was ancestor of the WELBYs of Fossdyke, Gedney, Kirton, London, Multon, Pinchbeck, Rutland, Stixwold and Sutton Woodhead.1 The sr line continued at Harlaxton, Harrowby, Ropsley and Welby.1 S of Roger).1 In 1147 gave lands and woods in Wellebi to Valle Dei Abbey at its foundation.1 In 1166 in a JOHN de WELLEBI (possibly the same person) held one and a half kts' fees in Wellebi parish under Maurice de Crun, they having been the subject of enfeoffment (possibly to him) by 1135.1 He was the Gedney line were Richard Welby (living ), Adlard Welby (Sheriff Lincolnshire 1562) and Sir William Welby, Knight, Order of the Bath (K.B.) (1603), Sheriff Lincolnshire 1606 in 1216.1

     Who had a house and land in Denton.1 With two younger sons (Symon.1 Her married name became Welby. Sister and heiress of Robert Symond.1
